We had a promising start to 2020 at Reiff Steading, with planned renovations to the toilet and en-suites being completed and the arrival of new furniture for living spaces and bedrooms.
Installation of new luxury en-suite shower rooms, featuring spacious double headed shower enclosures have proved to be perfect for a relaxing shower after a day exploring the Coigach Peninsula. This is complemented by the coastal inspired natural aromas of the Laura Thomas shower and hand wash.
New beds in the twin bedroom and sofas for the lounge have also enhanced the aesthetics and comfort of the Steading. We wonder what the bovine occupiers of old would make of these changes?!
Fast forward a couple of months. With everyone plunged in to Lockdown due to COVID-19 things were not looking quite so rosy. Fearing multiple cancellations, we worked with our guests to offer alternative dates to reschedule bookings. Thankfully we were able to accommodate all necessary changes.
With restrictions being eased slightly at the beginning of July things started to look a little brighter. Our Availability Calendar quickly filled up, right up to mid-November, as people looked to travel a bit further from home. For many, a staycation in the UK was the perfect tonic to the restrictions of the previous months. We were delighted to receive great feedback from our guests about the positive benefits on their wellbeing following their visits to Coigach and Reiff Steading. The coastal location, comforts of the Steading along with the remote, rugged and diverse beauty of Scotland’s North West Highlands contributed to their positive feelings. Thankfully, we also managed to immerse ourselves in the beauty and surroundings of Coigach during a long-awaited family visit to the Steading in the Autumn.
Despite the challenges and restrictions of 2020, there were many positives too.
